Symbio Morpho Genesis is one of Modulab’s workshop series that ‘explores different forms of symbiosis between humans and technology, between humans, through technology and between different types of technology, through humans. The result of the workshops was an interactive installations exhibition which functions in symbiosis with its audience, whose movements and visual characteristics are assimilated, processed and integrated in real time in the behavior of the technological entities.’ Together with Loot, we worked on the identity for the exhibition and the promoting materials.
My take on the visual identity swirled around the core message of the works, namely the symbiotic relationship, the connection established between the viewers and the interactive installations. Thus, what I did was try to reduce the graphical representation to the intricate connections and links happening on a microscopic sight inside the living cell, which determine the most complex behaviours in nature. Layers of colours and textures set the ground to an ongoing series of renderings that outlined a dynamic identity in relation to the artworks exhibited.
